Airport Management Services
Airlines and airports face the challenge of consolidating their IT systems and making them compliant. And passengers expect continuously updated information systems.
Facts & figures
- In 2008 the 24 international airports in Germany served 190 million passengers. Worldwide the number of air travellers amounted to 2.5 billion.
- On peak travel days, German airports today record up to 10,000 aircraft movements. By 2020 the passenger traffic at airports will increase by 30% and cargo flights will increase by 50%.
- The SAMS (Slot Allocation and Monitoring System) manages the allocation of 2.2 million slots per year to 250 international airlines at 16 German airports.

A central IT platform helps simplify decision-making processes and activities in all areas of air traffic. To this end, T-Systems developed the Total Airport Management System (TAMS), a modular, end-to-end solution which is already being used at more than 50 airports around the world. The modules range from terminal simulation to flight planning to slot allocation and statistical applications. As a core component of the system, the Airport Operational Database (AODB) ensures consistent and targeted management of all airport data. Immobile resources such as baggage check-in and ticket counters can be scheduled with the help of the integrated Resource Management System (RMS). The Flight Information Display System (FIDS) provides passengers with clear and comprehensible flight information.
Proven standard solutions
TAMS enables the integration of legacy applications and proprietary stand-alone systems into a comprehensive and manufacturer-independent IT platform which supports all core processes. The offer entails installation, system integration, application management as well as service and maintenance of the complete ICT infrastructure. It is based on proven standard solutions, decreases future integration efforts and leads to more cost efficiency in operations and maintenance.
