Monitoring SAP business processes

January 12, 2010

T-Systems has developed a new business process monitoring (BPM) system that identifies errors in operational processes.
Today's monitoring systems only monitor technical processes. They report errors but are unable to link them directly to individual processes. The new BPM system is different. Not only does it recognize technical errors, it also identifies the business processes they affect. To do this, the system monitors the SAPSAP

application landscape around the clock. Once it has identified a problem, the BPM system sounds the alarm and localizes the cause of the error so that service staff can initiate countermeasures right away. T-Systems sits down with the customer to determine threshold values for each process step in advance. An error notification is then initiated any time a deviation from these values occurs.

Seamless integration – in the cloud, too

The monitoring solution also works the other way around when it comes to general error notifications. If, for example, a network error does occur, the system immediately indicates which business process is affected at which location and to what extent.
BPM is extensively standardized and can easily be integrated into existing processes. The system is based on the widespread SAP Solution Manager, which helps users introduce and operate corporate applications. The solution can also be used together with the T-Systems cloud computing offer for SAP services.
