All-in-one for DekaBank

June 10, 2010

Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe’s central asset manager is bundling its ICT infrastructure services. T-Systems will provide services based on demand and invoice based on use.
Financial transactions have to be conducted quickly and reliably. To ensure this, financial service providers also require a secure and stable information and communications infrastructure. DekaBank has now decided to entrust T-Systems with its voice and data communication, workplace systems and data center services. This package also includes comprehensive security measures intended to protect highly sensitive bank data against unauthorized access. With the “all-in-one” scheme, the asset management services specialist DekaBank aims at benefiting from synergy effects and a well-coordinated and high-speed service ensuring high-level quality.

Smooth securities trading

T-Systems will set up a new data center environment for the asset manager. The migration of the business applications and bank-specific software to the new technology will then take place from the fall of 2010. As far as possible, operations will be changed over to dynamic platforms, “which will significantly reduce our costs compared with current operations,” says Dr. h. c. Friedrich Oelrich, DekaBank Board member responsible for ITIT (= Information Technology)
Information Technology (IT) is a collective term for information and data processing and the hardware and software used for this purpose.
. The financial institution is placing particular emphasis on its trading center solutions, which are used to trading securities largely automatically and in real time. Delayed responses or even failures would therefore be a knockout criterion.
