Pioneer for new technologies
May 19, 2008
Employee and customer advantage: T-Systems Austria recently started working with Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007.

T-Systems is one of the first companies in Austria to install Windows Vista, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and Office 2007. T-Systems also relies on a unified communications solution provided by Office Communications Server 2007 as well as application virtualization based on Microsoft SoftGrid Application Virtualization. "We think it makes sense to not only provide our customers with the latest technology tailored to fit their needs but also to employ this technology ourselves," Rainer Weinzettl, Central Partner Manager at T-Systems Austria, says. T-Systems will save up to 44 percent with the solution through reduced invoicing costs particularly for application and operating system migration. Help desk inquiries and on-site services will also be significantly reduced. And, as an international competence center for application virtualization, the company is more than happy to pass these advantages on to its customers. Robert Lampl, Windows Product Manager at Microsoft Austria, comments, "We're excited about the pioneering

From the user perspective, the Windows Vista workstation is fused together with productivity and communication tools such as unified communications, business intelligence and enterprise content management. A significant number of applications are provided in standardized form via Microsoft Softgrid Application Virtualization. T-Systems employees enjoy all of the advantages of unlimited collaboration provided by this integrated solution while continuing to benefit from high internal security requirements.
